About
Formed at the end of 2012 we are now in our second decade, and with every year we love what we do a little bit more.
We are a powerful 8 piece female fronted ska band from The South Coast, featuring a 3 piece brass section. Our vibrant live show has built up a
great reputation for its high energy and floor filled skanking nights.
Drawing on the Ska, 2Tone, Soul, and Reggae genres we deliver a mix of the classics along with a few lesser played tunes…plus a
few surprises with our own unique twist along the way, setting us slightly apart from your generic ska covers band.
While we are based on the south coast we play a mix of pub, club and festival gigs across the country including
Skamouth, Teddy Rocks, Wilkswood Reggae Festival, Barnstomper and Skabour. We are regulars at Tybers Reggae Bar and recently
added the iconic Dublin Castle to our CV. The band has previously supported The Skatalites, Neville Staples, Bad Manners, The Dualers, The Beat, King Hammond and The Undertones in venues including O2 Academy Bournemouth and 100 Club, London.
The band has contributed to and supported The Specialized Project for the last few years,
recording tracks each year for their charity CD, performing at Specialized events and the annual Big One Weekender festival.
The Decatonics have been described as one of the hardest working ska bands around, that is all we try to do! We look forward to continuing to
work hard for you and bringing you something a little bit different for as long as we still love doing it!
